THE DIMINISHED — Holding your post when your body can no longer keep up.
Baudouin IV, Kingdom of Jerusalem — 1161–1185. King of Jerusalem at thirteen and affected by a progressive illness diagnosed in childhood, he exercised power for eleven years. At sixteen, he won the Battle of Montgisard in November 1177 against a far larger army. In his final years, he was carried by litter to places of decision. He could have abdicated; he did not.
This is the situation carried by the Baudouin IV capsule from the CULTURE OF WAR collection: not a tribute, but a mirror. The piece bears the inscription “TA BONTÉ D'ÂME SERA CONNUE DE TES ENNEMIS AVANT MÊME QUE TU NE LES COMBATTES”, the capsule's motto.
Short-sleeve grappling rashguard with full white sublimation print, patterned side panels and a portrait on the back. 240 g/m² technical fabric made from 92% polyester and 8% elastane, with four-way stretch, low-friction flat seams, silicone hem gripper and reinforced collar. The sublimated graphic is embedded in the fibres, so it will not peel, crack or lift in the wash. Close-fitting men’s cut for no-gi, Brazilian jiu-jitsu and MMA. Check current IBJJF or CFJJB rules before competition use. Sizes S to 2XL.
